Just took all three of the kids, plus Grandma (thank God!) and went to Safeway. There was an unadvertised meat sale going on! So here is what we got:
Beef Bottom Round Roast 2.56 lbs NORMALLY $11.49 ($4.49/ lb) ON SALE FOR $1.99/lb which means I got it for $5.09!
And I got another roast that would have been $12.53 but I got it for $5.55!
Hillshire Farms Smoked Sausage was BOGO and I had a $1 manufacturer's coupon! Two for $2.99 (less than the price of one: $3.99)
All total, I spent $14.63 on loads of meat...I love Safeway!
I saved 51% off of the total bill by shopping the sales and using my manufacturer's coupons.
I LOVE SAVING MONEY!!!!
And tonight, I put one of those slabs of premium beef (Rancher's Reserve) in my crockpot and let it cook. Tender, melt-in-your-mouth roast...effortless! Throw a package of onion soup mix (mine was generic) and a side of mashed potatoes...yummm!

mmm sound good ! you always fine the great deals! Way to go girl!Hugs!
Wow! Your goal for your grocery bill this month is impressive. I usually spend between $350-$400 for a family of 6. How do you get so low?
I live a rural area so it is hard for me to shop in a variety of stores. I have Wal-mart, Kroger and Save-A-Lot to choose from. I rarely buy meat because my husband is a hunter and we eat that. Still I have a hard time keeping our grocery bill under $100 a week. I must also mention I am feeding 3 growing boys. One who can eat more than me. Maybe that has something to do with it! :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving me a comment!
Oh, that is wonderful!! I need to make more of an effort to find out when meat goes on sale around here!
:)

Do you know any sites that list great stores like Safeway regionally? Wal-Mart groceries aren't always the best deal, and Kroger's is hit and miss with sales. And I don't care for Save-A-Lot. Maybe I should join Sam's Club?
